OUR HISTORY
Sin City Church was planted on March 9, 2014 by two female pastors.
Early February of 2014, four couples met together at the home of Pastor Jayne Post to pray together about the possibility of a church plant. The decision was made to begin gathering people together for prayer and a Bible Study with the first being held in the home of Pastor Rhonda Baker. Following this first casual gathering of prayer and discussion, the interest grew and DJ’s Christian Academy was secured to hold future gatherings. In mid-February, both Rhonda Baker and Jayne Post received confirmation to move forward in planting a church after prayerful consideration, wise counsel, and with the full support of their husbands. The name Sin City Church was chosen. With a $25 donation and a Facebook Page for advertising, a group of 15 people were selected as official officers/Serving Board Members and the legal paperwork process initiated for the 501c3 non-profit status application.
Sin City Church launched its first service at DJ’s Community Christian Academy at 95 S. Arroyo Grande Blvd., Henderson, Nevada with a 2:00 pm afternoon service. The first Easter service was held at Cornerstone Park in Henderson, Nevada. Due to numeric growth, in November of 2015, Sin City Church relocated to Somerset Academy at 50 N. Stephanie, Henderson, Nevada. Sunday service was changed to 10:00 am and the nursery was officially launched.
Sin City Church has helped to plant another church in Rwanda – Kigali City Church, and continues to support missions locally, nationally, and globally. All make disciples by loving people to a new life in Christ.
