BAPTISM

Have you been baptized as a believer? At Sin City Church, we practice believer's baptism. This act of being immersed in water (i.e., baptized) is done once a person believes in and professes Jesus as Lord and Savior. Baptizo, the Greek term for baptism, means to immerse or dip a person into water for a religious reason. Baptism is not the act of salvation but instead is a symbol of it. Going down into the water symbolizes being buried with Christ, and coming up out of the water symbolizes being raised to a new life in Christ. Baptism is one of the two ordinances practiced in the church with the other being Communion (i.e. the Lord’s Supper).

Practiced as a public act at Sin City Church, your baptism is a witness to the church and joins you in unity with other baptized believers.

SIN CITY CHURCH’S BEST KEPT SECRET IS NO LONGER AN INTERNAL THING . . .
OUR DESIRE IS TO LOVE MORE WIDOWS TO LIFE. . . SO, WE ARE EXPANDING THIS MINISTRY. WIDOWS NO LONGER NEED TO ATTEND OR BE A MEMBER OF SIN CITY CHURCH TO EXPERIENCE THE COMMUNITY OFFERED TO WOMEN WHO OFTEN FIND THEMSELVES ALONE, FORGOTTEN, AND HURTING.

It all started when…

Rhonda Baker and Jayne Post planted Sin City Church in 2014. One of their founding non-negotiable values was to care for widows and orphans. The Bible reminds us, “Religion that God our Father accepts as pure and faultless is this: to look after orphans and widows in their distress and to keep oneself from being polluted by the world (James 1:27).”

Mary Gore, a widow of nearly 30 years, gracefully stepped into the role of directing this ministry and also hosts many of the events in her beautiful hospitable home. Events are held periodically throughout the year to encourage, love and care for widows. If you are a widow, you are invited to join this ministry.
